GENERAL INFORMATION
CONGRATULATIONS! Getting married is a very exciting time for couples. Once the decision is made, the question about what comes next typically arises. Choosing a date for your ceremony is an obvious first step. Long weekends and holiday times are most commonly chosen so it is important that you check into booking for many of the relevant services early.
I would suggest, if you wish to choose me as the Marriage Commissioner, that you contact me very early in the planning. I want you to be comfortable with me and also to ensure that I am available on your chosen date.
Another decision that should be made early is the location of the ceremony. Factors to consider here are things like wedding party size, type of ceremony, and of course, weather, if you should choose an outdoor setting. It is highly recommended that an indoor alternative be planned, should the weather prove to be unagreeable. Jasper National Park boasts numerous, appealing outdoor and indoor venues.
When you think about the ceremony itself, there are some considerations for what is important to you for your wedding day:
Do you want a formal, informal or casual wedding?
Is someone walking the bride down the aisle and presenting her in marriage? If so, whom will that be?
Where will you stand during the ceremony?
Do you wish to include any special ceremonies?
Are you both presenting each other with rings?
Who can I have as a witness to the ceremony?
What about flowers? And music?
Children involvement - Do you plan on a flower girl, ring bearer, or even presenting your own children (if applicable) with a special gift during the ceremony?
I will assist in answering each of these questions and more as you begin to deal with the details. I am here to help in any possible way.
